Grain Free Carrot Cake Cupcakes
Faith On Record
If you believe the word of God then you believe in heaven and you believe in hell. After my grandmother died a few years ago, God brought something to my attention. Something that to be honest frightened me at first but later I realized God was revealing something to me that was so precious it wasn’t meant to frighten me, but to encourage me and give me hope and confidence that my salvation is secure and firm in him.
My grandmother lived an amazing almost 102 years. A sweet yet strong independent woman who lived her life devoted to loving Christ and loving others. A good person by all means. Sixteen years before my grandmothers death I lost one of my great grandmothers. She didn’t care to know Christ or have a personal relationship with him. However, a very strong independent woman, raised her kids, never stole, and was an honest person… just a good person in general.
Every year for Christmas I would send my grandmother a scripture calendar for her wall. The year she died I had given her a calendar with a beautiful picture of Jesus on every monthly page. In the last month of her life she asked my dad to tear off the cover of the calendar ( which was by far the most majestic glorious picture of Jesus Christ ) and move it over to the wall by her bed so she could look at it every day. In the last few weeks of her life she would point to the picture of Jesus on the wall and say he’s speaking to her and talking to her. She was in so much peace in her last days. I take heart in knowing she’s in heaven and that I get to see her again someday.
Sixteen years earlier my great grandmother died. Our family talked with her on many occasions about coming to know Christ as her personal savior. She always rejected the notion. It just wasn’t something she thought was necessary or needed. The last few weeks of her life was filled with torment and unfortunately lacked peace in every way. She would have demonic visions … and would holler “ They’re coming to get me, They’re coming to get me.” It breaks my heart to know that that’s how her last weeks on earth were spent. What breaks my heart even more is to know that she may very well be in hell for eternity.
When I started to reflect on my grandmothers peaceful death and in contrast my great grandmothers, God began to illuminate my thoughts and spirit through his word. So here’s what God spoke to my heart and brought to my attention …
The world says “ Be a good person and you will go to heaven. “
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; It is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
Romans 10 : 9-10
If you openly declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
God has shown me that there’s no such thing as a good person. We all fall short of his glory. God loved us so much that he sent his son to die on a cross for our sins that we might believe and receive eternal life. God loves us unconditionally. Grace cannot be bought, it’s God’s unmerited favor. Salvation is a gift from God and he longs for no one to perish. The choice is ours! ♥️
