Moist, Tender + Delicious Red Velvet Donuts! These healthy gluten free donuts are super easy to make and are the perfect healthy breakfast for Valentine’s Day! Made with grain free flours, and sweetened with honey. No guilty pleasures here!

Gluten Free Red Velvet Donuts

  • 1 1/4 cup super fine almond flour
  • 1/2 cup coconut flour
  • 1/4 cup potato starch
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup unsweetened cashew milk ( I use silk brand )
  • 3 tsp. red food coloring. ( You can sub for 3 tbsp. beet powder but FYI – it will alter the taste. )

Cream Cheese Glaze

Gluten Free Red Velvet Donuts

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease heavily a donut baking pan.
  3. In a large bowl add and mix together almond flour, coconut flour, potato starch, baking soda, and cocoa powder.
  4. Make a well in the center of the flour mix and add oil, honey, vanilla, eggs, milk, and red food coloring- and or beet powder.
  5. Whisk together until completely combined and no clumps. Batter should be nice and smooth.
  6. Using a large cookie scoop, scoop batter into heavily greased donut baking pan. * Do not over fill the donut cavity.
  7. Place donut baking pan into your pre-heated oven and bake for approximately 15 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven when done baking and let cool on the counter for about 15 minutes.
  9. Now place pan in the fridge for an hour. Remove and frost immediately. *See notes above for a tip to quick cool.

Cream Cheese Glaze

  1. In a large baking bowl add your softened cream cheese and blend until nice and smooth.
  2. Add vanilla extract, butter, and blend again.
  3. Next add in your powdered sugar and blend again.
  4. Now add in your cashew milk and blend one more time.
  5. Dip tops of donuts into your glaze and set donuts on parchment paper to set.
  6. Enjoy!!

*These donuts are extremely tender so refrigerating them helps them to set and keeps them from breaking apart when dipping them into the glaze.
