Donut worry be happy! I’ve got just the donut recipe for you. These incredibly delicious Grain Free Chocolate Cake Donuts are tender, soft, moist, and dunked in a smooth chocolate glaze. They only require a few quick ingredients and waalah they are done before you know it. Dress them up with sprinkles or dress them down, either way they are a winner!
Chocolate Cake Donut Recipe
This chocolate cake donut recipe is grain free, gluten free, soy free, and dairy free. We used Bob’s Red Mill finely ground almond flour along with their Coconut Flour. These two combined make for an incredible texture that in my opinion beats out traditional gluten free flours by a long shot! Ingredients For Gluten Free Chocolate Cake Donuts
Chocolate Cake Donuts
- 1 1/4 cup finely ground Almond Flour ( I used Bob’s Red Mill )
- 1/4 cup tapioca starch
- 1/2 cup coconut flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 3 tbsp. espresso powder
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup cashew milk
- 2 cage free eggs
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 2 tbsp. ACV ( apple cider vinegar )
Chocolate Glaze
- 1 1/2 cup Dark Chocolate chips ( dairy free )
- 1 tbsp. coconut oil
How To Make Gluten Free Chocolate Cake Donuts
Chocolate Cake Donuts
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease donut pan.
- In a large bowl add almond flour, coconut flour, tapioca starch, cocoa, espresso powder, sugar, and baking soda.
- Mix well.
- Make a well in the center of the flour mix and add eggs, milk, olive oil, and ACV.
- Mix batter together until smooth and no clumps.
- Scoop batter into greased donut pan.
- Bake for approximately 16 minutes. ( oven temperatures may vary )
Chocolate Glaze
- In a medium microwave safe bowl add dark chocolate chips and 1 tbsp. coconut oil. Microwave for 20 second intervals stirring between each time.
- Once completely melted and smooth, dip each cooled* donut into chocolate glaze and top with sprinkles.
- Let set… and then enjoy! 🙂

Excellent donut!! Great flavor and texture! I am sensitive to coconut flour so replaced with Cassava flour. I also replaced the 1 c. sugar with 1/2 c. monkfruit/ethrityol. Love them. Do they freeze OK? Some of the grain free baking products I’ve made in the past don’t freeze well.
