Easy Grain-Free Apple Pie Donuts will leave you smitten to the core! Incredibly soft, fluffy, and perfectly spiced to perfection!

Enjoy the delicious smells of apple spiced aroma in your kitchen! Grain-Free Apple Pie Donuts are tender, super moist, and bursting with delicious apple pie flavor. Lightly brushed in butter, and coated in a delicious spiced cinnamon and sugar topping.

These apple pie donuts are baked in the oven and are a healthier alternative to fried donuts. They are easy to make in just one bowl, and make for a perfect quick breakfast or dessert option. Have these done in 30 minutes and be on your way!

What You’ll Need

  • A non-stick donut pan
  • A large glass baking bowl
  • Spatula
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Bob’s Red Mill Paleo Baking FlourĀ 
  • Hain Gluten-Free Baking PowderĀ 
  • Cinnamon
  • Apple Pie Spice
  • Egg
  • Sugar
  • Apple Pie FillingĀ 
  • Unsweetened Cashew Milk
  • Earth Balance Butter

Key Tips

  • Lightly coat the donut pan with grease. This ensures the donut releases from the pan smooth and easy.
  • Make sure to make a well in the middle of the flour before adding wet ingredients.Ā This allows you to more evenly mix your dry ingredients into your wet ingredients.
  • Wait to coat the donuts. You want to wait until the donuts have completely cooled and you are ready to eat them before coating them in the butter and sugar mix. This will yield a more fresh crisp outside texture with a tender soft inside bite.

Description

Incredibly easy to make plus super delicious Apple Pie Donuts. These little breakfast delights are grain-free, dairy-free, and are filled with spiced apple pie flavor.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1– 1/2 cup Bob’s Paleo Baking Flour
  • 1 tsp. Hain Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. Apple Pie Spice
  • 1 egg at room temp.
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup Apple Filling – diced up into small chunks ( Lucky Leaf Brand is gluten-free )
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cashew milk

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup melted Earth Balance Butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees and lightly grease donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl add flour, baking powder, spices, and sugar. Mix until thoroughly combined.
  3. Make a well in the center of the flour mix and add egg, milk, and apple filling. Stir and combine together, batter will be thick.
  4. Scoop batter into donut pan and bake for 15 to 16 minutes until done. Oven temps may vary.
  5. Let cool.
  6. While donuts are cooling melt your butter in a small bowl and set aside.
  7. In another bowl combine cinnamon and sugar.
  8. Once donuts are done cooling, lightly brush donuts with butter and press into cinnamon and sugar mixture to coat.
  9. Enjoy!
